holds a Master of Music degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro where she was a teaching assistant for Scott Rawls. As an undergraduate she received the Outstanding Achievement in Music award from Eastern Mennonite University. She has played with the Harrisburg and Greensboro symphony orchestras and the Duke/UNC Chamber Orchestra. Recent engagements have included Reading, Lancaster, and Kennett symphonies and Allegro Chamber Orchestra.

In addition, Mrs. Kauffman has played Around the World in 80 Days and Sweeney Todd at the Fulton Theatre in Lancaster, PA. Mrs. Kauffman has appeared in master classes with Roberto Diaz, John Graham, Paul Cortese, and Jerzy Kosmala. Summer festivals include Eastern Music Festival, Shenandoah Valley Bach Festival, Lake Chelan Bach Feste, Icicle Creek Chamber Music Festival, and the Masterworks Festival. 

She is a founding member of Beyond Ourselves, an instrumental ensemble promoting the global work of Mennonite Central Committee with an annual concert and a commissioned piece.
